My view: The cost-benefit of social interactions
Many times, we look to talk to others, to repair damage caused by other people. Or we for example go watch content made by other people, to feel less stressed by daily life, many of the stresses of daily life which also directly or indirectly revolve around being around others or listening to others. Social media included,
the same social media that has nice fanarts, wholesome content, memes, good advice and etc, also feeds loneliness, political rage, cancel culture, hatred, comparison to others, having to listen to dumb opinions, mental overload, etc.
Friendships feel nice, but at the same time, in some occasions the desire for friends or girlfriends/boyfriends comes more from loneliness than a desire for genuine connection, which ends up creating breakups.
It's a roulette.
